Maggie Egan has been a working professional actress for over 27 years. She has appeared as an on-camera principal performer in over 600 TV commercials including CRESTOR, GLUCERNA, HONDA, FABREZE, TIDE, McDONALD'S, KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN, ALWAYS, BUICK, COUNTRYWIDE, BELL SOUTH, KMART, T. ROWE PRICE, and for seven years was the on-camera spokesperson for THE DISNEY CHANNEL amassing a credit of 400 commercials for Disney alone. Maggie has recorded hundreds of radio commercials, plus more than 30 corporate training films as the spokesperson or as a principal performer.
Maggie hails from Ballston Lake, a small town in Upstate New York, but it was Houston, Texas that acted as a springboard for Maggie's acting career. Her teacher, Ms. Chris Wilson, instilled a sense of professionalism in Maggie and gave Maggie her first equity job in theatre. From there Maggie was selected from tens of thousands of actors to appear on the first season of STAR SEARCH. It was this break that allowed Maggie the entrée to Hollywood. Over the years Maggie has appeared in over 50 TV shows including as a recurring role in the Sci-Fi hit BABYLON 5 for six years and then continued her role on the spin-off, CRUSADE. Among the TV shows Maggie has performed in, her recent guest star role on Fox TV's STANDOFF was regarded as "the emotional core of the show," per writer/producer Carlos Coto (currently with JOURNEYMAN on NBC). Some of her other TV shows include CSI, ER, and MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE, and feature films such as WHAT WOMAN WANT with Mel Gibson; EXECUTIVE DECISION with Kurt Russell, and COMMUNION with Christopher Walken.
Maggie is a member of SAG, AFTRA, and AEA. She has taught at other professional acting academies, local schools, and held her own acting workshops over the years both in Texas and in California. Maggie has trained with renowned acting coach Gordon Hunt and is currently studying improv with actor/writer Andy Goldberg ("Comedy Improv" by Andy Goldberg).
