MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION WORKSHOP
Led by Director/Choreographer and working Broadway, TV Actress, SHAUNA MARKEY


This workshop is designed to focus on the Acting portion of your songs; creating subtext, intentions, and an inner monologue, so your auditions are Memorable and stand out from the rest!! You’ll learn to identify what roles are right for YOU and will choose songs that you not only love, but that are also appropriate for you, based on your type and vocal ability. You’ll learn how to dress effectively for your auditions, talk to your accompanist, plus put together a winning headshot & resume’! And, as a special bonus, you’ll learn tips, tricks, and gain access to several resources to help you keep your finger on the pulse of the business!!

* FINAL WEEK: A “Mock” audition lead by an Industry Professional! An Amazing Opportunity to receive feedback/critiques from an LA Agent, Director, Producer and/or Casting Director.

“I’ve Graduated from the Musical Theatre Audition Workshop….. Now, what’s Next”?

If you are seriously thinking about pursuing musical theatre, you’ll need to have an extensive repertoire of audition songs to cover the many different styles that are requested and required for auditions today. In the Level 1 Musical Theatre Workshop, you’ve worked hard to prepare two songs (an up-tempo and a ballad) that are solid and ready to go for your auditions! In the intermediate class, we’re going to continue to fill out your repertoire with songs from the following categories…

* A Comedy Song *Rock Songs- up-tempo & ballad *Pop Songs- up-tempo & ballad *A Patter Song *A Jazz Song * A Song from the 60’s *A Song from the 50’s *A Song from the 40’s *A Song from the 30’s *A Song from the 20’s *Country Song- up-tempo & ballad *A Broadway Contemporary Song- up-tempo & Ballad *A Blues Song

You’ll use the skills and knowledge we’ve worked on in the Beginning Workshop, plus new strategies and techniques to choose and develop 2 to 3 new songs that are up and ready to go in a moments notice! Additionally, you’ll learn the secrets of how and where you can actually submit yourself for auditions and begin to understand the history and significance of Musical Theatre.

The Workshop Gives You….
